Sheraton Luxor turned off its lights in observance of Earth Hour, a worldwide event organized by the World Wildlife Fund to send a powerful global message about environmental awareness and caring for the planet.  Sheraton luxor  shared other energy-saving measures during Earth Hour among them:  Turning off exterior signage lighting; dimming and turning off non-essential interior lighting and using candlelight in appropriate public areas such as restaurants and bars as well as hotel terrace where guests and employees jointly celebrated Earth Hour candle lit. “Earth Hour gave Sheraton Luxor the opportunity to take part in the biggest ever global event in the fight against climate change and demonstrate to associates and guests how important just simple actions can help in saving energy, reducing emissions and making a difference. “Earth Hour symbolizes that working together each of us at Starwood can make an impactful difference on the health of our planet”said Khaled El Omary, Assistant General Manager of the hotel. Hundreds of Starwood hotels around the world  also coordinated Earth Hour awareness events, including community walk-a-thons, public candlelight concerts, and receptions for guests featuring signature green cocktails.
