CAIRO, Aug 17 (MENA) – Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar and Colombian Ambassador to Egypt Ana Milena Munoz de Gaviria agreed on considering the signing of a bilateral agreement in the field of air transport and the possibility of operating a direct flight route between Egypt and Colombia.

The move came during a meeting held on Monday between the two sides to discuss means of activating tourism to Egypt after the rise seen in tourism movement between Egypt and Colombia since 2011.

Egypt and Colombia have distinguished cultural heritage that extends for more than 60 years, the minister said, adding that Colombia is one of South America’s promising countries in the tourism industry.

In this regard, Manar underscored the importance of maintaining constant contact and coordination between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the Colombian ambassador lauded today’s fruitful meeting, which she said reflects the strength of bilateral relations between Egypt and Colombia.

She also affirmed her country’s keenness to foster cooperation with Egypt and create joint investment opportunities between the two countries.
