CAIRO – 31 March 2019: EgyptAir’s B787-9 Dreamliner arrived to Cairo International Airport, accompanied by EgyptAir's team and a high profile delegation of representatives of the several partner companies that contributed to the manufacture of the aircraft.

Minister of Civil Aviation Younes Hamed expressed his happiness for the delivery of EgyptAir’s first Dreamliner, saying “This is an achievement for the Egyptian Civil Aviation personnel, who are willing to accomplish more success and progress.”

“I am pleased to witness this moment when EGYPTAIR is regaining its leading role in the region, bringing innovation, comfort, and style to its customers,” Hamed further elaborated.

Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Ahmed Adel took a brief tour aboard the new aircraft to make sure its specifications and features will meet the expectations of EgyptAir's customers.

“We are delighted to welcome the first B787-9 Dreamliner to our fleet. We have accomplished a big part of our development strategy set under the umbrella of Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation, and we are seeking the best. Today’s delivery marks a new chapter for EgyptAir and Egypt’s Civil Aviation Sector,” Hamed stated.

Hamed added that EgyptAir’s 787 Dreamliner, one of the most technologically advanced aircrafts, is the perfect platform for EgyptAir's transformation to a global network carrier. The national air carrier pursues upgrading its fleet. EgyptAir announced adding 33 aircrafts to its fleet by the end of 2020; six B787-9 Dreamliners, twelve A220-300 aircrafts, and fifteen A320neo aircrafts.

He referred that upgrading the fleet coincides with unveiling the new cabin-crew uniform.
“We invite our loyal customers to come on-board and enjoy the experience of flying on B787-900,” Hamed concluded.

Meanwhile, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Airlines Ashraf el-Kholy said, “Adding the Boeing 787 Dreamliners to our fleet gives us a more efficient fleet and further upgrades our service quality. In addition, it gives our passengers the comfort and convenience of the Boeing Dreamliner’s advanced aviation technologies. We exerted great efforts to enhance our cabin service."

“We are making these investments to give our passengers better flying experiences and further demonstrate our dedication to providing a five-star airline service,” Kholy said.
The Boeing 787-9s will be set for 309 passengers: 30 in the Business Class and 279 in Economy supplied with all means of luxury and comfort.

EgyptAir’s second Dreamliner is expected to be delivered in April 2019 and will be used to extend the airplane’s operations to several long-range routes in EgyptAir network.
