Stomach infections during fasting Ramadan - Creative Commons Via Wikimedia
CAIRO – 5 June 2017: For those that are susceptible to stomach infections Ramadan can prove to be a difficult month.
Only two main meals during the day and the risk of overeating after fasting can cause complications in digestion and the likelihood of experiencing a stomach or gastrointestinal-related illness during the holy month is increased.
Specialist of Internal and Heart Medicine Dr.Mohamed Abdel-Razek has recommended tips to avoid these complications, such as drinking tea or hot water with mint half an hour after breakfast to aid digestion, drinking licorice for its anti-inflammatory properties, eating dates to provide the body with nutrients, staying away from soft drinks and avoiding eating too many fruits and vegetables.
