CAIRO – 11 August 2018: The beach of Al-Arish city in northern Sinai every day attracts a huge crowd of people from inside and outside the city to escape the hot weather, especially since the beach caters low prices that suit many people.

Mahmoud Abel Rahman, a resident of Al-Arish, told Egypt Today that the beach is the only place one can go to escape the hot weather; his children also enjoy going to the beach and swimming. He is keen to breathe fresh air free of dust on the beach every day, as advised by his mother.

Salim Sabeh, director of Tourism Department, North Sinai Governorate, said that the people of Al-Arish city this year have been flocking to the beach heavily, adding that the most important characteristic of Al-Arish beaches is the corniche, which extends along the beach.

“At present, many people are suffering from the lack of ability and cannot afford to rent chairs or umbrellas as well as exploit the owners of private beaches. So, they resort to the beaches of Al-Arish because of their appropriate prices through the service projects provided by the government to people; these service projects include open beaches for people at affordable prices,” Ismail said.

Sameha Farag, a housewife, also pointed out that from time to time she goes to the beach in the afternoon out of the stress of life and difficult conditions in the area of their residence in the neighborhood of Safa, south of Arish.

“There are no public parks for our children so the beach is our only entertainment place in North Sinai,” she added.

Al-Arish, the capital of North Sinai, is characterized by the spread of five-star hotels overlooking the sea coast directly and the cafeterias are spread along the sea coast to welcome the holidaymakers.
