Turning 37, Zachary E. Posen was born in 1980 and was raised in the Big Apple (New York City), the fashion capital and the city that sets the trends that the globe follows.

His mother Susan is a corporate lawyer while his father is an artist. His career in fashion was written for him in stone at a young age when he started to make ball gowns and then landed an internship at Nicole Miller's fashion house.

During his teenage years, he won a Scholastic Art and Writing Award; he then joined a pre-college program at the iconic design school, Parsons the New School for Design.

His talent for fashion and design was evident, just as it was also evident that he was guided by Richard Martin in The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Posen also has a degree in womenswear from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London.

In 2000, he designed a dress for the supermodel Naomi Campbell, and in 2001, he created a master piece gown made entirely out of thin leather strips, dressmaker hooks and eyes which would later be displayed in the "Curvaceous" exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

After all the hard work and accomplishments that he managed to attain at a young age, it is no surprise that Posen is the fashion icon that we know today.
