CAIRO – 30 September 2017: A lot happened in the tech world this month. Just in case you missed out, here is a quick recap of the month:

Mainly three enormous brands stirred the news this month; the first was Apple:

On the 12th of this month, Apple had its press event in Cupertino, California, where they launched six new devices: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus,

iPhone X

, Apple Watch 3, Apple TV 4K and the Apple AirPower charger.

But everyone was confused, as the tech gap between iPhone 8 and

iPhone X was huge

, which led many to wonder why they should settle for something that will be very soon outdated and old-fashioned – the iPhone 8. This caused a lack of the usual line-ups at Apple stores whenever a new iPhone was released.

But at least those who did buy iPhone 8 are already enjoying the futuristic "

Animojis

", which allow you to send a message through a 3D version of any emoji you like.

As for Google, its month also started on the 12th. While iPhone was having a great day releasing its new family members, Google, which is the biggest competitor and behind Android, was having a rough day, as many users reported crashes of Google Browser, Google Drive, Calendar and Gmail.

But the month did not go that bad for Google, as it just

celebrated its 19th birthday

of being a tech giant and released 19 different games for users to enjoy.

Another big name that stirred some controversy was Instagram, the social media giant that seemed to be flooding users with possible updates, such as

sharing your stories to Facebook

and testing

other updates

that are more likely to happen, such as the "Follows you" feature, which allows you to see in a person's profile if they follow you or not, which had mixed reactions, as some people loved the idea of growing their audience, and others feared the embarrassment of getting caught not following their aunts.

There was also the changing to show four pictures per row, instead of three, which users worldwide have already gotten used to.

But still we had other changes this month, as Whatsapp announced it will be releasing its "Unsend" feature soon, making it possible to delete embarrassing messages which you already sent to someone, but under

a couple of conditions.

And finally, Twitter gave up its trademark "140 characters" to allow users double that space, with a 240 characters per tweet update, which stirred conflicted

reactions

.
