CAIRO – 12 August 2017: A number of airlines announced that business and tourist visa holders will not be allowed to travel to Saudi Arabia starting Saturday, August 12 until September 2, with the exception of Saudi residency or nationality holders.

On Saturday morning, 65 pilgrims returned to Cairo International Airport as Saudi authorities refused to allow them to enter because they received work and tourist visas, which were suspended during the Hajj season.

The hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage, as it is one of the five pillars of Islam and must be performed at least once by every adult Muslim who is physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey.
