RED SEA - 5 Aug 2017: Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anany said that his ministry mulls being engaged in partnership to establish a tourist and cultural complex in Red Sea governorate to be affiliated to the ministry.

Building the complex aims at promoting tourism and benefiting from the archaeological sites in the Red Sea governorate.

These remarks came on the sidelines of the minister's visit to the Red Sea governorate to inspect a 100,000-meter piece land allocated to establish Hurghada National Museum as well as a number of archaeological sites in southern the governorate.

Anany was accompanied during the visit by Red Sea Governor Ahmed Abdullah.

During a press conference held on Saturday on the fringe of his visit to the governorate, the minister said that the governorate groups ancient monasteries such as St. Paul and St Antony monasteries.

For his part, the governor underlined that he seeks coordinating with the antiquities minister to upgrade archaeological sites to activate tourism there, especially one-day tourist trips.
