CAIRO – 10 February 2021: The Egyptian Cultural Office in China organized a celebration, in coordination with the Chinese International Center for Children, on the occasion of China's celebrations of the Chinese New Year, or the "Spring Festival", which falls on February 12, and is the most prominent holiday for the Chinese people, dating back to thousands of years.

"The celebration, which was organized at the office headquarters in the capital Beijing, comes within the framework of cultural exchange between the Egyptian and Chinese sides, where the office received many Chinese children to learn about the ancient Egyptian civilization and ancient Egyptian history," explained Egyptian Cultural Advisor in China Omaima Zeidan.

Zeidan also stated that the history of the close friendship between Egypt and China is prosperous, long, and will last forever. According to Zeidan, relations between the two countries rose to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership in 2014, and the two sides achieved fruitful results in cooperation in various fields.

She indicated that the two sides are celebrating in 2021 the 65th anniversary of the establishment of official diplomatic relations between Egypt and China (which falls on May 30), and that they have expressed on more than one occasion their keenness to deepen traditional friendship, strengthen cooperation, and achieve new development on a wider and deeper level that benefits the two countries.
