CAIRO - 21 January 2021: Before leaving the Spanish capital, Madrid, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Enany visited the National Museum of Archeology.

 

Enany got acquainted with the museum's display scenario and discussed means of cooperation between the musem and Egyptian museums.

 

During the visit, the minister toured the various sections of the museum, accompanied by Ambassador Omar Selim, the Egyptian ambassador in Spain.

 

They listened to a detailed explanation of the museum from its curators, and the minister was keen to visit the sections of ancient civilizations.

 

 

Enany spoke with the head of the Spanish archeological mission working in the Ahnasia archeological site in Beni Suef.

 

They discussed the work of the mission there and ways to develop it, as this site is one of the most important archaeological sites in the city and the Spanish mission has been working in it for decades.

 

It is worth noting that Enany participated in the opening session of the 113th Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization, which was held over the course of two days; January 18 and 19.

 

He also participated in the meeting of the Crisis Committee of the World Tourism Organization, which was held alongside the activities of the session.

 

Enany attended the reception hosted by King Philip VI of Spain for tourism ministers and heads of delegations participating in the activities of the session.

 

He also met with a number of senior Spanish officials; namely the Prime Minister of Spain, the Spanish Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, and the Spanish Minister of State for Tourism Affairs.
