CAIRO – 14 January 2021: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Egyptian state has turned to electronic transformation. The Ministry of Culture has taken serious steps in this matter, through broadcasting cultural events online and developing the government agencies' online platforms, to suit the requirements of the stage.

According to informed sources inside the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, a website and an electronic portal are currently being prepared to act as a new outlet for a number of magazines and publications in the various sectors of the Ministry of Culture.

This electronic shift will not affect the existence of hard copies, as the launch of a new website and making electronic copies of literary and cultural magazines in Egypt aims to increase the distribution of these publications and reach the largest possible number of readers.

The Ministry of Culture is now designing an electronic portal for its various sectors, including sites and pages for all cultural publications issued by the ministry, as well as for news of the ministry and its governmental bodies.

Recently, Head of the Egyptian General Book Authority Haitham el-Hag Ali has announced that the authority is currently working on establishing a website for the Cairo International Book Fair, which comes in line with the Egyptian state's efforts to enhance technological transformation.
