Egypt’s Minister of Tourism&Antiquites discusses external exhibitions,internal events

 CAIRO - 11 January 2021:Dr. Khaled El Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, held a joint meeting, with members of the Committees of Promotion, Foreign Exhibitions, and Internal Events.  
 
The meeting discussed promoting domestic and international tourism especially with the launch of the "Enjoy Winter in Egypt” Initiative to stimulate domestic tourism, and Arab tourism.
 
This coincides with contracting a specialized international agency to put a media strategy to promote and revitalize Egyptian tourism in preparation for launching an international promotional campaign, for the next tourism season.
 
 Dr. Khaled El Enany began the meeting by emphasizing the role of the two committees in promoting Egyptian tourism internally and externally.
 
He stressed on the importance concentrating efforts in to contribute to highlighting Egypt’s unique touristic and archaeological potential.
 
 During the meeting, many related topics were discussed, including developing the website of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board and making it more enticing to surfers.
 
This encourages tourists to visit Egypt and enjoy its various destinations.
 
 The promotional campaign of the "Enjoy Winter in Egypt" initiative on social media was reviewed. 
 
This is the campaign launched by the ministry with the Ministry of Civil Aviation in cooperation with the Egyptian Hotels Association to  promote domestic tourism. It will be from January 15 to February 28, 2021.  
 
The campaign includes a reduction on the prices of domestic air tickets for Egyptians and foreigners to Luxor, Aswan, Sharm El Sheikh, Taba, Hurghada and Marsa Alam, at a flat rate ranging between 1500 to 2000 pounds including taxes, in addition to reducing the prices of the hotels participating in the initiative, in three, four and five-star categories, including taxes, services and meals.
 
The Supreme Council of Antiquities also granted a 50% reduction on the prices of tickets for Egyptians in the archaeological areas and museums open for visits in the governorates of Qena, Luxor and Aswan.
 
 The meeting also discussed how Egypt's hosting of the 27th edition of the World Handball Championship for Men 2021 during the period from January 13 to January 31 will be used to promote Egypt by highlighting its various tourist destinations.
 
 The meeting also dealt with the ministry’s plan to host a number of bloggers and influencers on social media from all countries of the world to visit Egypt, as the ministry is scheduled to host some of them during the month of January.
 
 They also discussed the campaign that will be launched to promote tourism from Arab countries next April, which will  coincide with the month of Ramadan. The international campaign was discussed as Ministry is scheduled to contract at the end of January an international agency to put a media strategy to promote Egypt in preparation for launching an international promotional campaign for a period of 3 years that will start next July. This campaign will promote various Egyptian tourist destinations, taking into account the circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic showcasing hygiene safety regulations and formulating media messages to broadcast. It is worth mentioning that the last international promotional campaign ended in 2018.
 
 Dr. Khaled El Enany had issued two decrees to form the "Committee for Internal Events" and the "Committee for Promotion and Foreign Exhibitions", headed by Eng. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, and includes marketing experts, representatives from the tourism sector,  and university professors.
