CAIRO - 26 December 2020: Egypt is the land of diversity and acceptance.

2020 was a year of accomplishments as the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities opened Islamic, Coptic and Jewish monuments.

Whether it is a Mosque, Monastery, Church, or a Synagogue, Egypt protects her diverse cultures of thousands of years.

In January Egypt opened Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue, in August three ancient monstaries in Qena were opened, in October the lighting of Al Mansour Seif El Din Qalawon was developed andImam El Shafi’i Mosque was opened in November.

Eliyahu Hanavi is one of the most important and oldest Egyptian synagogues and one of the largest synagogues in the Middle East. The restoration for Synagogue started in August 2017.

It was established in 1354, but was desecrated when Napoleon Bonaparte's campaign shelled it to create a French military base in the Ottoman territories. However, it was rebuilt in 1850 under the Muhammad Ali Dynasty. It has been closed off by the Egyptian government after a partial collapse in the upper place for women worshippers.
