CAIRO - 6 December 2020: Cairo International Film Festival organized “Meet the 2020 Arab Stars of Tomorrow” panel on December 6.

Screen International’s Stars of Tomorrow initiative has an incredible track record of identifying future stars at the beginnings of their careers including A-list names such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne, Emily Blunt, and Claire Foy.

Their correspondent Melanie Goodfellow moderated a talk on December 6 with the 2020 Arab Stars of Tomorrow along with Ahmed Malek.

The stars were Sameh Alaa, Brice Baxter, Tara Abboud, and Hana Alomair.

“ Starting 15, I started watching mainstream Egyptian movies” the first Egyptian director to win Cannes Film Festival’s Palm D’or Sameh Alaa said.

Alaa said that he always wanted to study literature.

“  I prefer to call myself a rising talent” Malek said.

“ I was interested in all kinds of arts” Tara Abboud said.

Abboud added that  she developed a passion for acting since a young age.

“ In 2008, I got a role in a short film called “ Log In Its Timothy Chamalet” Abboud said.

“ I think I mainly make my films for myself” Alaa said.

Alaa explained that he thinks he is on a road, he only knows what his next step is.

“I have a lot of stories and lots of talents that I want to work with” Alaa recounted.
