CAIRO - 5 December 2020: Cairo International Film Festival organized Mind my Gender: Being a Woman in the Creative Industry panel discussion on December 4 at the Cairo Opera House small theater.

Friday , December 4 witnessed the opening of Cairo International Film Festival’s Cairo Industry Days program.

 

The panel was moderated by Mariam Farag, head of corporate sustainability and social impact at MBC Group, and brought together a range of creatives and advocates of gender parity to discuss the challenges faced by women in creative industries.

 

The discussion penalists were famed Egyptian actress Jamila Awad, acting coach Marwa Gabriel, Emad Karim and Egyptian singer Dina el Wedidy.

 

Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) is one of the oldest cultural events in Africa and the Middle East, and is one of the 15 festivals in Africa and the Middle East to be accorded category “A” status by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) in Paris.

 
 
 

The 42nd edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) kicked off on December 2, amid strict precautionary measures, and in accordance to the requirements presented by the Egyptian ministry of health and the World Health Organization.


CIFF head Mohamed Hefzy presented Lifetime Achievement Award to acclaimed writer Christopher Hampton.

Veteran Egyptian script writer Wahid Hamed received the Golden Pyramid award for Lifetime Acheivment and Egyptian star Mona Zaki received Faten Hamama Excellence Award.
