CAIRO - 26 October 2020: Netflix director of creative talent Investment & Development, Christopher Mack, has kicked off Monday festivities at TUB Campus with a virtual masterclass that takes us into the new frontier of film and TV streaming - one that has been shaped by the streaming platform.

While shows are being picked up at a rapid rate, giving more opportunities to a wider scope of talent and concepts, Mack insists that the basic tenets of a good, eye-catching script remain the same.

Master Class: Pitch Realization by Christopher Mack is by all means very rich.

Mack spoke about how the cinema industry’s rife with opportunities now that streaming platforms have swept up the majority of productions.

Shows seem like they’re getting picked up at unprecedented rates, but the rule of thumb remains the same: your script must stand out. The past decade’s stood testament that character-driven stories are all the rave.

There’s a multitude of successful series that prove how studios are willing to experiment with what doesn’t necessarily ‘sell’.

Mack has a decade of experience in writing for dramas, is a founding member of the Warner Brothers Digital Network division and now works with Netflix to help spot, support and develop TV and film communities worldwide.
