"Religious freedoms & Arts between Cinema & Theater" discussion to be held at Egypt’s Supreme Council of Culture on Oct. 18

CAIRO – 18 October 2020: The Supreme Council of Culture holds a cultural evening entitled "Arts and Religious Freedoms between Cinema and Theater" on October 18 at 6 p.m.

 

The evening will be moderated by Mahmoud Naseem, with the participation of critic Sayed Imam, who will speak about the role of theater in establishing religious freedom; and critic and writer Tarek el-Shennawy, who will speak about how Egyptian cinema approached the dramatic space in the relationship with the other. This is in addition to the participation of critic Yasser Allam, who will speak about the role of theater in combating extremism and supporting religious tolerance.

 

The symposium will be held in the hall of the Supreme Council of Culture. Precautionary measures to battle COVID-19 will be applied. The symposium will also be available online on the conference secretariat page on Facebook and its official YouTube channel.

 

Moreover, the Council’s Digital Culture and Information Infrastructure Committee is presenting a symposium titled “Remote Work Tools Post-COVID-19” on October 18 at 8 p.m. through ZOOM application.
