CAIRO – 10 September 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem agreed to the participation of the Egyptian Opera House -headed by Magdy Saber- in the Second Beijing International Forum for Arts under the title "Crises and Opportunities for Arts Post-Corona".

 

The forum is held online on September 9, 10 in the presence of representatives of 13 countries: Egypt, China, Britain, America, Poland, Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Azerbaijan, Korea, Switzerland, Spain and Australia.

 

The forum started with a presentation on the objectives of the course for studying conditions of culture and arts in light of the Corona pandemic.

 

During the inauguration, the head of the Opera House referred in his speech to the role of arts as an important industry and its effect on character formation and human development.

 

He stressed that Egypt leads making activities available on online electronic platforms free of charge, which encourages digital transformation. It also contributes to achieving cultural justice as the artistic product of the Egyptian Opera House is now available for various groups all over Egypt, as well as for citizens of more than 28 countries around the world.

 

He noted that Egypt succeeded in transforming the plight of the coronavirus into a positive thing because it contributed to accelerating the digital transformation, and taking new measures that contribute to increasing awareness and encouraging the health lifestyle.
