CAIRO – 3 September 2020: The Cairo Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert led by maestro Nair Nagy, with the participation of soprano Dalia Farouk, at the Fountain Theater; the concert will take place on September 5 at 8 p.m.

The program includes a number of classical music works of major composers, in addition to pictures from the exhibition by Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky, who is considered one of the classic icons in the art of music description. He was inspired by a plastic exhibition held by artist Victor Hartmann at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg in 1874 and used musical vocabulary to express the content of the paintings.

It is noteworthy that Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky was a Russian composer and was born in 1839 in Pskov Province to a wealthy family. He received his first musical lessons from his mother at the age of 6.

Mussorgsky was distinguished by the richness of imagination, which led to the abundance of his artistic production. He believed in the innate inspiration of the musician and therefore his works were freed from traditional templates and formulas.

He possessed the artistic tools to lay the foundations of modern Russian music and appeared in his work to be influenced by the history and folklore of his country.

After his death, he left many incomplete compositions that his musician friends, most notably Rimsky-Korsakov, completed many of them; these eventually came to light a few years after his death in 1881.
