CAIRO – 31 August 2020: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Center for Strategic Studies will present a panel discussion entitled “The Future of Public Policy-Making in the Post-Corona World” on August 26, at 1 p.m.

 

The panel discussion will be hosted by Hala el-Qadi, vice president of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and general supervisor of the Academy's specific councils; Gamal Abdel-Gawad, member of the Advisory Board of the Egyptian Center for Thought and Strategic Studies and head of the center's Public Policy Unit; and Engy Mohamed Abdel-Hamid, teacher of political science at the National Center for Social and Criminal Research.

 

The discussion will be moderated by Reham Salah, researcher at the Center for Strategic Studies. It will be broadcast on the official Facebook page of the Center for Strategic Studies.

 

The discussion revolves around the most prominent challenges currently facing policymakers, especially in Egypt, while facing the repercussions of the crisis, and then the paths of action to formulate effective and flexible public policies capable of overcoming post-crisis developments by focusing on the following important questions:

 

· What are the approaches that Egypt and the world follow to face the future       repercussions of the Corona crisis in light of the uncertainty and ambiguity?

· What is the impact of this on the future of public policymaking in a post-Corona       world?

· What will be the outputs of these policies and the mechanism for evaluation and follow-up?

· How can the global sustainable development goals and local development strategies be used as a starting point for building policies capable of facing this crisis and what is behind it?
