CAIRO – 11 August 2020: The House of Egyptian Architecture of the Cultural Development Fund sector presents cultural and artistic activities online on August 11 at 7 p.m.

A cultural salon will be held under the title "The Architecture of Classy People". The salon is run by Heba Safay El-Din and Reem Bassiouni, head of the Department of Linguistics at the American University, will speak about Cairo's architectural style during the Mamluk era.

It is noteworthy that Bassiouni has seven novels, all of which were published in several editions and most of her works were translated into other languages. She has won several local and international awards, the last of which is the Naguib Mahfouz Prize for Literature for the Best Egyptian Novel for the year 2019-2020.

The House of Egyptian Architecture is a landmark in itself, as it is a model of the shape and characteristics of one of the dwellings in the Ottoman (Turkish) era, which followed the traditions of Mamluk architecture.

The house comes to play the role of a museum of architecture, or a museum of Egyptian human history registered in the building. The house records the history and models of Egyptian architecture from the dawn of history until the 21st century, as a social cultural product integrating the arts. It sheds light on a number of pioneers of architecture with distinguished schools of thought.
