CAIRO – 1 July 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Tourism & Antiquities Khaled el-Anani arrived at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir on July 1, to reopen it to the public. The museum has been closed since March 2020.

The reopening of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir comes after the precautionary measures approved by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to gradually re-open a number of museums and archaeological sites have been checked and approved, and coincides with the return of inbound tourism to Egypt as of July 1.
