CAIRO – 18 June 2020: The Youth Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture launched its official page on Facebook under the name "Youth Committee - Supreme Council of Culture”.
During the first days of its launch, the page received high interaction. That page includes the most important information about the committee, the projects to be established during the coming period, and showcases its most important goals and policy. It works as a platform to communicate with Egyptian youth amid the COVID-19 crisis and the trend towards digital transformation as a tool for communication and spreading culture.
The committee stated in an official statement that it is working to extrapolate the reality of Egyptian culture by drawing cultural policies for youth and working to follow up with their application in an effort to anticipate a better reality, within the framework of Egypt's 2030 strategy.
The work mechanisms of the committee include achieving partnership with institutions concerned with youth and various youth agencies, with an emphasis on strengthening the relationship with Egyptian youth and international organizations. This is in addition to taking care of youth’s cultural and social conditions and working to develop a legislation guaranteeing their professional rights.
The committee also aims at drawing cultural policies for developing and updating youth cultural programs, and participating in the development plans of state institutions, spreading a culture of investment in youth in the areas of preparation and training, participation, interaction, and empowerment.
It is noteworthy that the Youth Committee is one of the cultural policies and development committees of the Supreme Council of Culture, which was formed as per a decision of Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem on March 5, 2020.
