CAIRO - 4 June 2020: On her official Facebook account, popular Iraqi singer Rahma had announced that she and her family members have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

“My family and I are all infected with COVID-19,” commented Rahma on her Facebook account.

Rahma joins a number of artists and media personalities who have been infected with the coronavirus, most notably actress Ragaa el-Geddawi, singer Nihal Nabil, anchorwoman Aya Abdel Rahman, media personality Dina Howaidaq, Reham el-Esseili and Karim Ramzy.

It should be noted that Dr. Mohamed Reda, deputy director of the Abu Khalifa isolation hospital for quarantine, said that the health condition of Geddawi is stable, expressing his astonishment at the rumors that confirmed her death.

Reda added that Geddawi’s daughter announced that she was in a stable condition after being placed on a ventilator. He explained that some people show mild symptoms and should be placed in house quarantine but are unnecessarily being isolated in hospitals.

It is worth mentioning that Rahma and her family reside in Egypt.
