Egypt’s Cultural Production Affairs Sector to launch 3rd season of ‘Ana el-Masry’ competition

CAIRO - 3 June 2020: The Cultural Production Affairs Sector, headed by director Khaled Galal, announces the launch of the third season of "Ana el-Masry" [I am The Egyptian] competition for the national youth song.

This comes under the patronage of Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, and within the activities of the ministry's initiative "Stay At Home - Culture is Between Your Hands" that the ministry launched in March 2020.

The competition will be held in the branches of Singing, Composing, Songwriting and Music Distribution.

The sector offers five awards this year, the first position will be granted LE 20,000, the second position LE 15,000, the third position LE 10,000, the fourth position LE 7,000 and the fifth position LE 5,000.

Contestants must be not less than 18 years of age and not more than 45 years old. The contestant must be an Egyptian national and can only submit two works. The duration of the songs submitted must be a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes.

The contestant must submit a signed declaration of all the parties participating in the song accepting the participation in the competition. The contestant cannot submit a work that has won any previous awards at any other contests.

The complete work is presented as a national song made up of lyrics, composition and singing in MP3 format and sent with the participation form to the following email:

The deadline for receiving the submitted works is August 1. The winning songs will be broadcast on the Ministry of Culture’s official YouTube channel.

It is worth noting that the Cultural Production Affairs Sector launches the third season of the competition, after the great success of the competition in its first and second seasons.
