CAIRO - 9 February 2020: Egypt will participate as a guest of honor in the 19th edition of Meknes International Animated Film festival in Morocco between Feb. 20 and March 2.

In its 19th edition, the festival celebrates the 85th anniversary of the release of the first Egyptian and African animation film, in the presence of over 30,000 animation film enthusiasts.

In honor of the Egyptian animation film, “The Knight and the Princess” will be presented followed by a group of Egyptian films and a special exhibition for the Frenkel Brothers.

It is worth mentioning that the Frenkel brothers were among the first animators in Egypt, and became famous for directing the series "Mesh Mesh Afandi" between 1936 and 1947.

The festival’s 19th edition will be opened with the screening of the movie “The Knight and the Princess” in the presence of the Egyptian director and scenarist Bashir el-Deek and the Saudi film producer Abbas bin Abbas, in the theater of the French Institute in Meknes.
