CAIRO - 9 February 2020: The third Cairo Days Monodrama Festival, headed by Osama Raouf, will launch on Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. and will run until Feb. 12 at the Hanager Art Center.

Russia is the festival’s guest of honor in its third edition in conjunction with Egypt's celebration of the Egyptian-Russian year.

Iconic actor Salah el-Saadani was chosen to be the festival’s main personality. The festival’s shows and performances will stage on the Hanager Art Center Theater, Hanager Cinema, Salah Jahin Hall in Balloon Theater and the Artistic Creativity Center Cinema.

The third Cairo Days Monodrama Festival will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.

Fifteen theatrical performances from sixteen Arab and foreign countries, including Egypt, South Korea, Sweden, Iraq, Russia, Kuwait, Libya, Tunisia, France, Sultanate of Oman, South Sudan, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Belgium, will participate in the third Cairo Days Monodrama Festival.

The festival also introduces the “storyteller’s platform” for the first time, in addition to an exclusive interview with the Russian star Iasmin khagras, granddaughter of the poet Naguib Sorour. The festival will also run a training workshop for the dynamic theater presented by Frenchman Francois Clika.

During the festival’s inaugural ceremony, distinguished artist Muhyiddin Ismail will be honored, in appreciation of his enriching and creative artistic career.
