CAIRO - 28 October 2019: The second edition of the Manial Palace Festival for International Music and Arts kicks off Oct. 28 and runs until November 9 with the participation of some of the most important musicians from around the world.

The festival offers an enriching program of classical musician addition to the display of the distinctive collections of the Manial Palace Museum.

President and founder of the festival Abbas Helmy stated that the second edition of the festival creates a state of uniqueness through mixing the classics of world music with local distinctive heritage works, as the festival aims to preserve the museum's heritage, improve public taste and revive the Egyptian heritage of music through joint concerts and workshops bringing together musicians from around the world.

Mateus band led by maestro Jean-Christophe Spinose from France will open the festival, presenting the most beautiful international music compositions.

The festival's program includes a number of distinguished foreign bands. The second day of the festival will feature Harp musician Clara Babel, in addition to other musicians from Austria, Spain, Italy, Belgium and Hungary. This is in addition to Iraqi musician Naseer Shammah and Egyptian Mezzo Soprano Farah el-Dibany.

It is noteworthy that the Manial Palace Festival for International Music and Arts is held under the auspices of the European Union, the ministries of antiquities and culture, and several embassies and cultural institutes, including the French Cultural Center, the Italian Cultural Center, the Spanish Embassy, the Austrian Cultural Center, the Czech Embassy and the Slovak Embassy.

The idea of the festival came after a series of concerts were held by the association to raise funds for the restoration of ancient palaces and museums.
