CAIRO - 26 August 2019: The organizers of El Gouna Film Festival's third edition revealed granting Mohamed Henedy the Creative Achievement Award for his significant contribution to cinema.The festival’s third edition is scheduled to run from September 19 -27.
The festival's management decided granting Palestinian director Mai Masrythe same award. Masry is one of the most prominent Palestinian directors. She is known for her documentaries, which focused on women and children.
Henedy is considered one of the iconic stars of the Egyptian cinema in the last 20 years. During his career, the famed actor presented numerous films, including “Hamam fi Amsterdam”, “Saeedifel Gamaaal Amrikiya”, “WeshEgram”, “Yana yakhalti”, “Ramadan Mabroukabul Alamein Hamouda”, among others.
El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) aims to showcase a wide variety of films for a passionate and knowledgeable audience, while fostering better communication between cultures through the art of filmmaking.
Its goal is to connect filmmakers from the region with their international counterparts in the spirit of cooperation and cultural exchange.
The festival is committed to the discovery of new voices and strives to be a catalyst for the development of cinema in the Arab world, particularly through its industry segment, CineGouna Platform.
