CAIRO – 31 May 2019: Lebanese star Nancy Ajram performed a concert at one of Ramadan tents in Heliopolis on Thursday, May 30.

Ajram was born in May 1983 in in Achrafieh, Lebanon. When Ajram was 15 years old she released her debut studio album "Mihtagalak" (I need you) produced by EMI. The following year, she released her second album "Sheel Oyoonak Anni" (2001) (Take your eyes off me).

She was exceptionally accepted to the Syndicate of Professional Artists in Lebanon despite being under the legal age.

Her career boosted in 2003, and in 2007 she sold over two million records, ranking third best-selling female artist in Lebanese history. According to her website, she was described on the Oprah Winfrey Show as one of the most influential personalities of the Middle East.

Ajram was announced the best-selling Middle Eastern female singer of the decade (2000–2009).

She has a strong bond with her manager, Jiji Lamara, who helped her get to the top. They have worked together since the start of her career.

Lamara believed in Nancy’s talent and has supported her from the beginning. Today she is a superstar in the Arab world.

Ajram does not shy away from diversity in her songs; her albums usually draw on many dialects, including Egyptian, Lebanese or “Khaligi” (Gulf). She is also one of the judges in the hit show The Voice Kids airing on MBC Masr. She began performing as a child and appeared on several television shows in her early years with the support of her father.

Throughout her career, Ajram has released 11 studio albums to date, including two dedicated for children, and numerous chart toppers such as the Lebanese hits of "Yay", "Ehsas Jdeed" (New feeling) and Egyptian hits of "Ya Tabtab", "Mo'egaba" (I'm in love), "Ibn El-Giran" (Neighbors' son), "Fi Hagat", "Ma Tegi Hena" (come here) and the Khaleeji hit of "Ya Kether".

Ajram is the first and only female spokesperson of Coca-Cola in the Arab world, releasing several promotional anthems that became instant smash-hits, such as "Oul Tani Keda" (Say it again), "El-Dounya Helwa" (The world is nice), "Noss El-Kawn" and "Shaggaa Bi Alamak".

Ajram has made the list of Most Powerful Arabs on Arabian Business several times, and was similarly listed by Newsweek as one of the most influential Arabs.

Since 2013, Ajram has served as a judge on MBC's talent show "Arab Idol". She also began serving as a coach on "The Voice Kids Arabia" in 2016.

Nancy Ajram’s latest clip “Badna Newalee El-Jaw” (We want to get the party started) witnessed high viewership on YouTube.

The clip reached over 25 million views on YouTube. That is no surprise as most of Ajram’s songs amass a high number of views on various social media platforms.
