CAIRO – 31 January 2019: Former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing embarked on a tour in Luxor, reminiscing 44-year-old memories.

The former French president visited Luxor Museum, which he launched with former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat.

D’Estaing and his wife toured the archaeological and tourist sites on the western bank of the city of Qurna, where he visited a number of tombs of ancient Egyptian kings and queens.

He expressed his admiration of the ancient Egyptian civilization and the monuments of Luxor and its distinctive tourist attractions.

The former French president took a picture with his wife next to the opening plate of the museum, on which his name is printed.

The couple enjoyed the warm weather of Luxor and the high sense of security in the ancient city.

The former French president arrived in Luxor on Jan. 29, accompanied by his wife.

The couple was greeted at Luxor International Airport by Governor of Luxor Mustafa al-Ham and the French consul general of Luxor.
