  Dr. Alaa Sadek and Karim Abd El-Kader were both winners at this year’s World Summit Awards, honored for their respective websites. PresentationTube, designed by Sadek, won in the e-Learning and Science category. The site serves as a free video presentation recorder — an online network to help students, teachers and business professionals deliver their message in a new, effective way. The network’s main purpose is to control duration of the presentation to give time for teachers and students to interact with each other. Screen shot 2013-11-27 at 3.25 The program, which was developed and has been applied in Egypt since 2012, reaches more than 10,000 visitors a day, 5,000 subscribers, and provides 500 video presentations in a variety of subjects and topics. In October Masrawy, created by Karim Abd El-Kader was recognized in the e-Media and journalism category as one of the most visited websites in Egypt. The nation’s first portal, Masrawy features coverage of a variety of fields including news about sports, technology, women, space for the free expression of opinion and productive social interaction. Masrawy has been noted for being the first to stream thanaweya amma results to students and the first to exclusively stream Obama’s historical speech at Cairo University, as well as for Masrawy chat.
