CAIRO - May 28, 2017: The Cannes film festival's top prize, the Palme d'Or prize, will be awarded late Sunday. Egypt Today is reminding you of the previous 10 winners.

2016: I, Daniel Blake (Britain)

A BAFTA Film Award winner of the “Outstanding British Film of the Year”, this movie is about a sick old carpenter who fights the system bureaucracy to receive employment and support allowance.

2015: Dheepan (France)

Also nominated for BAFTA Film Award, this is a crime movie about three Tamil refugees who flee the civil war in Sri Lanka and go to France with the dream of rebuilding their lives.

2014: Winter Sleep (Turkey)
