Egypt provides Guinea's new national library with books

CAIRO – 15 May 2017: The General Authority for National Library and Archives decided to gift a large number of its valuable publications to the Guinean National Library, according a statement by the Ministry of Culture, Sunday.

This comes in the context of the joint cultural cooperation between Egypt and Guinea, as well as celebrating the recent opening of the new National Library in Conakry, capital of Guinea. Ahmed al-Shawki, head of the General Authority for National Library and Archives previously announced that the national library welcomes collaborating with public and private libraries.

Among the donated books are a series of research on Africa, the People's Movement in South Sudan, the River Nile in the light of the Egyptian-Ugandan relation and others. In addition, versions of Egypt’s Renaissance publication series were gifted, which entail topics on the Egyptian cultural history, Cairo’s modernization, Egypt's history between thought and politics.

This cooperation comes in the framework of the cultural exchange between the Egyptian National Library and cultural institutions inside and outside Egypt.
