Drums Festival continues to excite Egyptians on 3rd day- Taken by Mariam Mosleh

Cairo – 24 April 2018: Cairo’s Saladin Citadel hosted the third day of the International Festival for Drums and Traditional Arts. India, Algeria, Greece and Port Said University performed at the Citadel’s Beir Youssef Theater.

India performed first and a member of the Indian team asked the audience to join them during their show. The audience was very excited to participate and cheered loudly for India when they finished.

The people also clapped and cheered when Greece performed. However, towards the end of their performance, the Greeks danced to Greek Zorba music and the fans knew the music and started to sing and hum along.

The audience also sang and danced when Port Said University performed on stage. The performers where young and filled the place with enthusiasm with their traditional music and dancing steps.

Wednesday will be a day for the participating countries to practice and get ready for the closing ceremony, when 25 countries will perform at the same theater at the Citadel.

The festival began on Friday, April 20 at Beir Youssef Theater at Cairo’s Saladin Citadel and will end on Thursday, April 26. The schedule is available on the website and social media accounts of the Cultural Development Fund.
