CAIRO - 25 December 2017: Antiquities Ministry Khaled el Anany inspected the Grand Egyptian Museum in Remaya Square Monday to follow up the preparations of transferring the Ramses II statue from the its current place in the museum to the main hall where it will be put on display in January.

Anany said that the transfer of the statue will be carried out in a majestic procession to fit one of the greatest Egyptian kings.

The general supervisor of the project said that transferring the statue is an important step which is not less important than relocating it in 2006.

The statue will be the first to be showcased in the museum which will be inaugurated partially in 2018, he noted.

The minister and his accompanying delegation inspected the Giza Pyramids development project.
