CAIRO – 15 December 2017: George Lucas, famed creator of the massive “Star Wars” franchise, gives the latest installment “The Last Jedi” a thumbs up of approval.
A representative of Lucas, Connie Wethington, told The Hollywood Reporter that Lucas had recently watched a screening of the 8th installment of the “Star Wars” franchise and thought it was “beautifully made”. He also spoke to the director, Rian Johnson after viewing, which Wethington stated was “complimentary”.
Lucas launched one of the world’s most popular franchises back in 1977, when the first “Star Wars” film “A New Hope” broke new grounds and revolutionized popular culture worldwide. The franchise fell out of Lucas’s hands after Disney bought out his company, Lucasfilm, back in 2012. While Lucas had his own plans for the reboot trilogy, Disney chose to go their own way and create an entirely new storyline.
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” will see its wide premiere on December 14 in the UK and December 15 in the USA.
