CAIRO – 7 December 2017: December 7, 2017 marks the 16th anniversary for the premiere of the acclaimed caper film “Ocean’s Eleven”, starring

George Clooney

, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and other Hollywood A-Listers.

A remake of the 1960 film starring Frank Sinatra, director Steven Soderbergh casts Clooney in the role of Danny Ocean, a con artist who is recently released from prison and already begins hatching a plan for what might be the biggest heist in history.

After reuniting with his partner, Rusy Ryan (Pitt), they travel the country to gather a total team of 11 men to help pull off the caper, including the likes of Frank Catton (Bernie Mac) and Linus Cadwell (Matt Damon). Ocean plans to rob three separate casinos of $150 million.

Rusty quickly discovers there’s more to the caper than what Ocean let on when he discovers that Ocean’s ex-wife, Tess, is going out with Benedict. Can Ocean get the cash and his wife back, or is he getting in way over his head?

“Ocean’s Eleven” was an immense blockbuster success, grossing over $450 million worldwide. The film was followed by two sequels; “Ocean’s Twelve” in 2004 and “Ocean’s Thirteen” in 2007, which in total grossed around $1 billion at the box office.

An all-female spinoff starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna and Anne Hathaway titled “Ocean’s Eight” is slated for a June 8, 2018 release.
