CAIRO – 27 November 2017: The Egyptian movie "El-Aslyeen" (The Originals) will screen on November 27 at the Cairo Opera House's Small Theatre as part of the Cairo International Film Festival.

The movie is about a man who loses his job to a younger person; he is beset by anxiety and depression that he never experienced before.

One day, he is given a cell phone and finds out that he has been spied on since the day he was born. This spying group is called The Originals. The Originals ask him to work for them; he agrees due to his unemployment and need for money. He plans in the end to leave them and start up his own business.
The story’s message is that people should not depend totally on technology, as it has its own disadvantages that might lead to problems. Plus, people should cherish their heritage and try to learn from it to lead a better future.

"El-Asleyeen" is an Egyptian drama, mystery and thriller movie that was released on the eve of Eid al-Fitr, starring Meged al-Kedwany, Menna Shalaby, Kahled el-Sawy, Kinda Alloush, Mohamed Mamdouh, Ahmed Fahmy, and rising stars Layla Fawzy and Khaled al-Zahaby.

The movie is directed by Marwan Hamed, written by Ahmed Mourad, and produced by Red Star and New Century; it discusses the genetic print and how it is used to spy on people through an organization called The Originals.
