CAIRO – 23 November 2017: The 2014 French drama “Bird People” by director Pascale Ferran will screen at the

39th Cairo International Film Festival

, which runs from November 21 until November 30.

Revolving around two lonely people at the Hilton airport, “Bird People” follows the odd developing relationship between a Silicon Valley businessman and a young maid. Gary Newman (Josh Charles) is staying at the Hilton before his trip to Dubai, and he decides he has had enough of how trapped he feels in his life and abruptly drops everything- his wife and job, aiming to begin anew.

Audrey (Anaïs Demoustier), a college aged young woman consigned to work as a maid, shares Newman’s desire to escape the boredom of their lives. While Gary seeks to ground himself into a new life, Audrey desires to take flight away from her everything.

Since its release on June 4, 2014, “Bird People” was nominated for the Cannes Film Festival’s ‘Un Certain Regard Award’.
