CAIRO – 22 November 2017: Fourteen musical groups from Alexandria have collaborated to create the second volume of “Musik von hier” (Music From Here) on Friday at Deutsche Schule Der Borromaerinnen Alexandri. These groups are different from those that participated in the first volume of the album, presenting a complete two-part album that showcases the talents of 28 Alexandrian music groups.

The track list comprises songs of various music genres including rap, electronic, Eastern, and rock. Similar to the first “Musik von hier” event, this Thursday’s release event will include live performances from some of the bands involved in the album and an album-signing segment.

According to the event’s official page, the scheduled performers for the event are the alternative rock band ‘Taradod’, the Nubian and world music band ‘RT Nuba’, the blues and R&B band ‘Sadeem’, and the oriental fusion band ‘Storm’. The event will be held at the Deutsche Schule Der Borromaerinnen Alexandria, a German-language school in Alexandria. Opening the concert is ‘Shemallos’, the school’s official student band.

The album was produced by the ‘Goethe-Institut of Alexandria’, a German cultural institute that seeks to promote German culture and Egyptian-German cultural co-operation. The event is arranged by ‘Platform’, an Arab musical-event planning organization.
