CAIRO – 30 October 2017: Ubuntu Art Gallary will host “Al Mahmal: Second Look” exhibition by the foreign artist Hannah Stevenson from November 1 to November 18.

A talented artist, Stevenson has passionately explored the Islamic Pilgrimage or ‘Hajj’ where she ambitiously drew the journey of crossing Arabian deserts.

She decided to portray the journey of Hajj from another perspective through her “Al Mahmal,” where she studied the art works of Al Mahmal and conveyed masters such as Sadek Bey, Mohammed Ali Effendi Sa'udi, Ibrahim Rif'at and al-Hussaini.

Her art tends to focus on impressive material and magnificent colors; marking her artworks aesthetic and uniqueness.

Hannah Stevenson is an artist who looking into the orient in 2005. She started with small paintings for caravans. Although the paintings were produced perfectly, she needed to improve the employed material, so she used Lascaux colors which give a realistic look to the paintings.

Stevenson produced 30 paintings and 20 portraits, all of them will be exhibited.

Stevenson is somehow walking the footsteps of many Orientalist painters such as Louis Béroud and Ludwig Deutsch in addition to a few rare modern painters such as Gio Collucco.
