CAIRO – 15 October 2017: Egypt will attend the 13th edition of the International Khartoum Book Fair as a guest of honor on October 17. The festival begins on October 17 and will end on October 29.

Osama Shaltoot, the Egyptian ambassador in Sudan, has confirmed that Egyptian publishers will be participating in this edition, emphasizing that 2017 is culturally a special year for the Egyptian presence in Sudan according, to a statement on Egypt News.

Egyptian Culture Minister Helmy Al Namnam is expected to attend the opening ceremony alongside 15 Egyptians ranging from cultural figures, literary figures, and 78 publishing houses, among others.

Other participants in the book fair include UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, South Sudan, Algeria, Syria, Jordan, Oman, Bahrain, and Lebanon among 220 foreign and local publishing houses.
