CIC collaborates with World Press Photo to feature photography from North Africa
The Contemporary Image Collective hosts a new exhibition, in collaboration with World Press Photo, from October 15 – December 15 titled “Stories of Change.” The exhibit, open to the public Sunday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., spotlights the work of North African photographers and multimedia journalists who were part of a two year project titled “Reporting Change,” organized by World Press Photo and Human Rights Watch. Project participants come from Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia. During the course of the exhibition, four of the participants will explain their work in the “Reporting Change” project and explain the stories behind their featured photographs. The photographers scheduled to present include Ahmed Hayman (Egypt) on October 22 at 7 p.m., Muhannad Lamin (Libya) on November 16 at 7 p.m., Mohamed Ali Eddin (Egypt) on December 4 at 7 p.m. and Mosa’ab Elshamy (Egypt) on December 14 at 7 p.m. The Contemporary Image Collective is located at 22 Abdel Khalek Tharwat St. in Downtown Cairo and can be reached by phone at (02) 2396-4272.
