CAIRO – 19 September 2017: Minister of Culture Helmy El Nemnem has congratulated Palestinian ambassador to Egypt and permanent member of the Arab League Jamal Al-Shobaki for inaugurating Palestine’s National Library on Monday, according to the Ministry of Culture.

“The National Library is a very important project for Palestine and all the Arab countries, and it will add to the Arabic library,” Nemnem said. “Egypt is ready to supply the library with books, documents and periodicals to enrich it with Egyptian books”

Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for National Library and Archives Ahmed Al Shouki invited the chairman of the board of the library to visit the National Library and Archives to sign an agreement to enhance cooperation between the Egyptian National Library and Archives and Palestine’s National Library.

Palestinian Minister of Culture Ihab Bisiso announced during a press conference held in August 2017 the establishment of Palestine’s National Library in Ramallah, Palestine, which will serve as a symbol of Palestinian national sovereignty and help to maintain Palestinian heritage.
