Talented Egyptian director Ahmed Fawzy Saleh participates in the 75th edition of Cannes Film Festival with his film project “Hamlet From The Slums”.

Saleh’s film project is among the 16 projects participating in the L’Atelier Forum for co-production organized on the sidelines of Cannes Film Festival.

“Hamlet From The Slums” has won 5 awards from the CineGouna Platform of the 4th edition of El Gouna Film Festival.

”Hamlet from the Slums” tells the story of eighteen-year-old Ahmed, who lives in a Cairo slum under the threat of brutal urban renewal.

Following his father’s mysterious death, Ahmed has to quickly ‘become a man’ to take his father’s place, conforming to his community’s power structure.

After the ghost of his late father demander revenge for his alleged assassination, Ahmed embarks on a journey to avenge his father and discovers who he wants to become.
