CAIRO – 27 April 2022: A unique holy Qur’an box is located in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat.

This box is unique as it is made of wood, copper, gold and silver. It dates back to the Mamluk era, in the eighth century AH.

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the first of its kind in Egypt and the Arab world, is the first integrated museum in the region. It is a comprehensive cultural beacon shedding light on the Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present day.

The museum highlights the interaction between the Egyptians and the land they lived on throughout history through cultural themes.
