Umm Kulthum Ensemble for Arabic Music to perform in Alexandria Opera House on Feb. 3

CAIRO – 3 February 2022: Umm Kulthum Ensemble for Arabic Music will present its first concert for the year at the Alexandria Opera House (Sayed Darwish Theatre) on February 3 at 8 p.m.

 

 

 

 

The ensemble will present melodies of the most famous composers of the golden era, including Riyad el-Sunbati, Mohammad Abdul-Wahhab, Zakaria Ahmed and Mohammad el-Mougi.

 

 

 

 

It is worth noting that Umm Kulthum Ensemble for Arabic Music participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Cairo Opera House in the presence of the Minister of Culture Mohamed Abdel Hamid Radwan in 1986, as well as the opening ceremony of the Cairo Opera in 1988, in the presence of the President of Egypt, the Prime Minister of Austria, and Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni.

 

 

 

 

The band continues to participate in the concerts of the Cairo Opera House, within the Arab Music Festival, which takes place in November of each year.
