The 43rd edition of CIFF kicks off with a funny conversation between Khaled Elsawy, Ali Rabie

The 43rd edition of Cairo International Film Festival kicked off with the National Anthem.

The opening ceremony housed a funny conversation between Egyptian stars Khaled Elsawy and Ali Rabie.

“ Welcome all to the 43rd edition of Cairo International Film Festival” El Sawy said.

Elsawy said that if the days of the week are one day, it will be so boring that is why diversity is a blessing.

“Egyptian cinema is so diverse” Elsawy said.

Based on the fact of diversity CIFF decided to invite Ali Rabie for the first time in this edition.

At the beginning of his speech Rabie joked” Is this Cairo Opera House? I was never invited to Cairo International Film Festival.”

Rabie added in a funny way that CIFF held 43 editions and didn’t invite me and that he made a comic film and CIFF refused to let him participate with this movie in the festival because it is a comic film.

Khaled Elsawy said to Rabie “If you want your film to participate in cinema festivals you have to work with Mohamed Hefzy”

Khaled Elsawy introduced Ali Rabie to the great actress Yousra.

Ali Rabie took a selfie with Yousra, Elham Shahine and Laila Elwi.

” I want to take this selfie to document that I was invited to CIFF and I am the luckiest person to meet these wonderful stars” Rabie said.
